From today 11th of October to 31st of October, for every pair of KOO sunglasses sold via our website, a pair of prescription glasses will be provided to someone who needs them in a developing country.
Worldwide, at least 2,2 billion people live with a visual impairment, but almost half of them have a vision impairment that could have been prevented or is yet to be addressed.
Refractive errors – e.g. myopia, hypermetropia or presbyopia – are the most common cause of vision impairment (49% of all visual impairment) and affect 949,7 million people globally. But they can be fully compensated for with the use of spectacles.
These eye disorders can be particularly problematic in developing countries, where those affected may not be able to afford sight tests or spectacles to help improve their vision.
World Sight Day is on Thursday 14 October 2021 promoted by the IAPB (International Agency fot the Prevention of Blindness)
